ENERGA 2018 Conference Program

During the three-day International Fair and Conference “ENERGA 2018”, from June 19 to 21, Sarajevo will become a regional energy center, bringing together more than 300 exhibitors from 15 countries from the region and the world, who will present the products, projects, ideas and services of their companies. ENERGA 2018 is held under the slogan “THINKING THE FUTURE”.

In the past days, the members of the Program Committee of “ENERGA 2018” have prepared a preliminary conference program, which traditionally brings together over 200 eminent participants each year, and which will deal with numerous issues in the energy sector, with particular reference to strategic energy projects and investment potentials in B&H.

The conference was scheduled for three days, with two thematic sessions, as follows:

First day:

Session I: Energy and Climate Policy in B&H – the decarbonization of the energy sector in B&H, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations (MoFTER) of B&H, UNDP, GIZ Open Regional Funds (ORF) Project, USAID Energy Investment Activity (EIA) Project, Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Spatial Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska and the Energy Community;

Session II: Electricity Market – the WB6 Initiative, with participation of representatives of MoFTER B&H, USAID EIA Project, State Electricity Regulatory Commission of B&H (SERC B&H), Independent System Operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISOBiH), Energy Community, World Bank, Regulatory Commission for Energy in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Regulatory Commission for Energy of Republic of Srpska, Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republic of Srpska, Electric Utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Electric Utility HZHB and Electric Utility of Republic of Srpska.

Second day:

Session I: Renewable Energy Sources (RES) – Opportunities and Obstacles to Investing in the RES Sector in B&H: MoFTER B&H, GIZ, UNDP, USAID EIA Project, Czech Development Agency, Energy Community, World Bank, Operator of Renewable Energy and Efficient Cogeneration (OIEiEK) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Electric Utility of the Republic of Srpska – Operator for Renewable Energy Sources, Electric Utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Electric Utility HZHB and Electric Utility of Republic of Srpska, as well as representatives of the private sector;

Session II: Energy Efficiency in B&H, Opportunities and Possibilities: MoFTER B&H, UNDP, GIZ, USAID EIA, Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republic of Srpska, Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Western Balkans Green Economy Financing Facility (WB GEFF), Energy Community, Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Environmental Protection Fund of the Republic of Srpska, representatives of the private sector;

The third day of the conference is realized under the sponsorship of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the following topics will be presented within the sessions:

Session I: Pyrophyllite as a Material for an Ecological Future, with participation of representatives from the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, AD Harbi d.o.o. Sarajevo, Ankara Gazi University, University of Tuzla – Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering, Institute for Technology of Nuclear and other Mineral Raw Materials from Belgrade, Serbia.

Within the last session of the conference the application of energy efficiency in the industry, possibilities of investing in the energy sector, as well as innovations in the energy sector will be discussed.

Further participation confirmations by public and private sector organizations from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Srpska and Brčko District are expected in the upcoming weeks.

ENERGA 2018 is organized under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mining of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Sarajevo Canton. The partners of the project are the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
